As the 2023 General Elections draw closer, the members of the Peoples Democratic Party are taking all means in supporting her candidates to secure their victories at the polls.
In this vein, a leading political pressure group in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State known as OMO ENI FOR 5/5 led by Olorogun Friday Akpokomuaye Orugbo, as the Director General, and Chairman, Udu PDP Ward 03 has donated campaign materials to the PDP Candidate to represent Udu constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly come 2023 and the Chairman, Udu Local Government Council, Chief (Hon.) Jite Brown on Tuesday 27th of December, 2023 at his Aladja Residence in Udu.
While presenting the materials, the Director General, Olorogun Friday Orugbo restated the aims and objectives of the group which is to campaign, canvass, and preach the good news of the party across all levels especially at the grassroots to ensure the full delivering of all PDP candidates from the Presidency to the State House of Assembly respectively.
The Omo Eni of Udu kingdom recounted the successes that have been achieved in the previous years at the polls in the host Ward (Ward 03) which scored them 2nd in Udu LGA during the 2019 General Elections in delivering the party’s candidates. He promised to make the record better at the 2023 General Elections in making Ward 03 come first position in delivering the 5/5 mandate.
Again, the PDP Ward Chairman, Olorogun Friday Orugbo thanked Chief (Hon.) Jite Brown for gracing the official launch of the group and unveiling of the billboard and banners sponsored by the group that was held some days back. He informed the House of Assembly candidate of the work done thus far by the group which involved door-to-door campaigns carried out by all members of the group in sensitizing and educating the electorates of the task ahead and identifying the PDP logo on the ballot papers.
In his words; “We are not just a group by name, we are a group of actions. We will not just talk, we will talk and do. Our mandate is to deliver all PDP candidates, thus, the group name; ‘Omo Eni for 5/5’. We have commenced our work immediately at the official launch of the group and with the support of our teeming members and God’s help, we shall deliver 5/5”.
The Udu council Chairman and House of Assembly Candidate for Udu constituency, Chief (Hon.) Jite Brown who received the materials with a heart of gratitude, expressed the joy in his heart seeing that a group could come visiting with free materials to ensure a successful campaign and elections. He described the gesture as a heart warming one and lacked enough words to thank the group for their donations.
In his acceptance speech, he described the D.G as a quality politician who truly, is the man of the people. He again thanked the group members for coming all the way to make the donations. He promised to ensure that all members eat their fruits according to their labour. He emphasized on the need to deliver Atiku/Okowa for Presidency as it is the turn of Delta State to produce the Next Vice President of Nigeria as well as other PDP Candidates.
In his words; “I’m delighted and joyous to see my people come at this moment, not just for a visit but for donation of my campaign materials. I must commend your DG for putting this together and allowing you all to key into this project. I promise, you all will eat the fruits of your labour”.
Truly, the Campaign Materials which include customized T-shirts and Face caps will add sweet color to the campaign train as said by the the recipient.
